DeRozan’s Improved Play is Credited to his Comfort off the Court

DeMar DeRozan is playing very well in the preseason so far. A lot of people will say “it’s just preseason ” but I rather see him do this in the preseason then nothing at all, at least I know what to expect of his game coming into the season. Watching DeRozan’s play this preseason, you can see the growth and the development starting to really come together and he credits that to how comfortable he has become off the court.

“Going into my fifth year in the league, just having the utmost confidence,” said DeRozan. “Not having no doubt or no questions about nothing.”

DeRozan has often been the best player on the court for the Toronto Raptors this preseason, almost without real effort.

“He’s a family man and all that starts to come into play as you grow and mature,” said Dwane Casey. “That’s why it’s so hard when people talk about: ‘This guy’s going to come in and take over the league.’ No, it doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a four year process, a five year process … It’s really good to see.”

As a Raptors fan it’s good to see DeRozan’s game finally take shape, he’s starting to shoot the three with confidence instead of just shooting it as a last resort or a end of the clock type of shot. He’s matured and you can see it. I’m very excited to see what numbers he’ll put up this year. I think he’ll be a 20pts scorer this season, without question!

Oh silly boys!

It’s a known for fact that a man’s greatest weakness is a woman. And poor Stephon Marbury got caught up, and then swindled for $900,000. Here’s the story. Stephon had a personal chef named Thurayya Mitchell. He obviously had a liking for her, but there was one problem, he was married. But I guess it wasn’t too much of a problem because he cheated on his wife, with the chef. Stephon didn’t want anyone to know. Because he still wanted to keep his marriage, so he told Mrs. Mitchell that he’d pay her $900,000 to keep quiet. Stephon was paying her in installments, and the payments stopped at the $600,000 mark. Since he had a legal agreement with her to pay the total of $900,000, Thurayya took Stephon to court. The story went public, the judge ordered him to pay off the balance, or face losing his assets. New court documents show that Stephon paid off the remaining balance of $341,153. So basically he paid $900,000 for no absolute reason, because everyone still found out about the affair. Boys can be so silly, if he just kept his cookie in his jar, he wouldn’t have had to waste $900,000. And seeing as though one of his properties is in jeopardy of foreclosure, I’m guessing he could really use that money. But like they say karma’s a bitch!

Ooohhhhhhh!! SNAP!

Remember when in middle school when someone got dissed you knew only because of the fact that you can hear people screaming “oooohhhhhhhh!!!” from a distance. And last night that’s exactly what happened. There no secret that Dwayne Wade of the Miami Heat, has a bitter ex wife. And it’s no secret that he definitely upgraded from his ex wife, to the beautiful Gabrielle Union. And last night he made it public that he upgraded. He posted a picture of Gabrielle Union in a 2 piece bikini, with the caption “age aint nothing but a number” #excusemecanigetaminofyourtime #startedfromthebottomNowimhere. Clearly indicating that his ex wife was the bottom that he’s now upgraded and now he’s here with Gabrielle. OOOOHHHHHH!!! That’s a huge diss for his ex, and since they’re settlement is still ongoing I’m sure she will take this personal, and not make it easy to settle. Oh well Wade gets to wake up to Gabby every day, so he still wins!

Derrick Favors and Jazz Agree on a Contract extension

Derrick Favors has reached agreement on a four-year, $49 million-plus contract extension with the Utah Jazz, league sources told Yahoo Sports. Favors, 22, is a centerpiece of the Jazz’s future and will take over a starting frontcourt position because of the off-season departures of Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap. A contract will be signed in the near future, sources tell Yahoo. Yahoo! Sports

KG says Lebron should mind his Business

Brooklyn Nets power forward Kevin Garnett thinks Miami Heat star LeBron James should concern himself with his own team. “Tell LeBron to worry about Miami. It has nothing to do with Celtic business,” Garnett said in response to James, who previously expressed thoughts that KG and Nets small forward Paul Pierce should apologize for criticizing Heat sharpshooter Ray Allen for leaving the Boston Celtics before they departed for Brooklyn.

“I think the first thing I thought was, ‘Wow, Ray got killed for leaving Boston, and now these guys are leaving Boston,'” James said. “I think it’s OK; I didn’t mind it. But there were a couple guys who basically [expletive] on Ray for leaving, and now they’re leaving. “That’s the nature of our business, man. I don’t know what Boston was going through at the end of the day. I know Ray had to make the best decision for him and his family and his career. Doc [Rivers, former Celtics coach], KG and Paul did that as well. You can’t criticize someone who does something that’s best for their family.”

Yet here he was, about an hour before tipoff of an otherwise meaningless preseason game on Thursday night, allowing himself to be carried back to a time in his career before he’d been crowned a champion. His appreciation of those battles with the Celtics — the ones that ended in devastation and those that finally ended in triumph — could not have been more evident. “It was always fun playing against the Celtics,” James said before facing the remnants of that old Celtics team in Brooklyn. “Always. The chemistry, the DNA, guys having a lot of pride – you had to kill those guys, man. They wouldn’t stop. They got me a few times and I was able to get them a few times. It was great fun playing against those Celtics teams.”

Adidas says 180mil Contract was never offered to Wiggins

Tuesday there was a report that Adidas has a $180 million offer sitting there, waiting for Kansas freshman Andrew Wiggins when he turns pro next summer (and he will turn pro). That report had multiple sources saying roughly the same thing, but a spokesperson from Adidas reached out to PBT to say that there is “fraudulent letter going around claiming to be from adidas offering Wiggins a contract.” They think the $180 figure came from that letter and said there is no such offer.
